A helm is where you steer from. A smith makes things that last. We do both: senior technology and AI leadership to set the direction, and the craft to build what that direction needs. Plural, because you get a practice, with specialists brought in when the work calls for them, not a single point of failure.

Modern tools, open-source platforms and AI have made building software faster and cheaper than at any point in the last twenty years. What has not got easier is deciding what to build, and what not to.
Most expensive technology mistakes are made before a line of code is written: the wrong platform, the wrong supplier, a contract that locks you in, or an AI project with no measure of success. Those are judgement calls, and they usually get made without senior technology people in the room.
We exist to put that judgement in the room at a price a growing business can afford, with the scope and hours written down up front, and to build what is decided on platforms you own outright.
